Drake is a very community oriented school and we rely on our community of families to help staff events that we hold throughout the year. Please take a look at the opportunities listed below and fill in where you can. Thank you in advance for your support!

Junior Parents and the Drake Graduation Reception

It is a Drake Tradition that the Junior Class Parents host the June Graduation Reception which is held in the Student Center immediately following graduation. This enables the families of the graduating Seniors to fully enjoy the Graduation Ceremony and other events of their Senior’s very special day. The good news is that people will do the same for you next year!!!!! The event’s history is well documented and ready for another year. No need to reinvent the wheel! This year’s Graduation is Friday, June 14^th. We need Junior Parents who will step up and Chair or Co-Chair this much appreciated event! All Parents and Safe & Sober Grad Nite

Every year, the parents of all four grades at Drake help put together our Safe and Sober Grad Nite at the JCC in San Rafael for the current Senior class. The event for the Class of 2013 will be held on Friday, June 14 from 8:30 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. It is an amazing event that has a 98% participation rate from year-to-year. It gives the graduates a safe, fun send off to their high school career!!

Each grade is asked to participate in a specific portion of this event:

12^th – planning, fundraising, decorating

11^th – chaperone the event in 2 hour shifts

10^th – set up on June 13th

9^th – clean up June 14^th/15^th

We are in need of four parents from each grade who can form the committee for this event. All of the information from past years is in binders that will be passed along to the group who steps forward. Getting the group together before the end of September is crucial. AP Test Proctors

In May 2013, during the weeks of the 6th and 13th, we will be administering our AP exams in subjects ranging from History to English Language. We are looking for a few good people who would like to volunteer a few hours to proctor an exam (or two)! The only caveat being that you cannot proctor in a subject in which your student will be testing. If you are able to proctor we will send you all of the information that you need to proctor the exams.
